Herceg Novi - Old Town & Savina winery
Herceg Novi is a city of sunshine, stairs, and everlasting greenery.
Archeologists discovered the first signs of life during Roman times. From 1482, when Turks first conquered it, many nations ruled over this small yet beautiful town. Each of them: Turks, Venetians, Austro-Hungarians, etc., brought their own culture with them, leaving their mark on the city's architecture by creating infrastructure, forts & castles.
*An interesting note: In the area of the Municipality of Herceg-Novi, there are 89 churches and monasteries, 74 Orthodox, 14 Roman-Catholic, and 11 ruins.
